Encounter on the Des Moines

Go back to 1832 on the Des Moines River Valley were a Ranger encounters a Sauk camp. This exhibit is filled with detail, history, and strives to honor the Sauk people of southeastern Iowa. Visitors can experience the inside of a wickiup, or wigwam.
